Why the default navigation is recommended and how to manually customize it only if absolutely necessary.

Yes — but we strongly advise against it.

Property websites in Presence® use automatic anchor links that connect visitors to sections on the same page. The platform manages this navigation automatically — sections with content appear in the menu, empty ones don't. No manual setup required.

Important: Manual navigation customization is not supported and not recommended. If you choose to proceed, you take on full responsibility for setup and maintenance. Our support team cannot troubleshoot issues caused by custom navigation overrides.

Why the default navigation is recommended

The default system:

• Manages itself automatically — the platform builds the navigation based on what's on the page
• Updates in real time — as you add or remove sections, the menu updates accordingly
• Requires zero maintenance — no code, no manual links, no upkeep

Manual customization requires you to manually link every section using code-based section IDs. If the page layout changes, those links may break — and you'll be responsible for fixing them.

How to manually edit the navigation menu (use only if necessary)

1. Navigate to the Presence® Platform.
2. Click Websites from the left-hand menu, then hover over the site you want to edit and select the pen icon.
3. In the white top navigation bar, click the Global Elements icon (four dots).
4. Scroll to the Nav Links section.
5. Click the + button to add a menu item.
6. Add your desired label (the text that will appear in the menu).
7. To link the item to a section on the page:
   • Open your live site in a new browser tab
   • Right-click on the page and select Inspect
   • In the Elements tab, search for section using Ctrl+F (Windows) or Cmd+F (Mac)
   • Copy the Section ID — for example, #section-123abc
   • Paste it into the Section ID field in the Presence® editor
8. Click the back arrow, then click Save.
9. Repeat for each additional menu item.

Will Luxury Presence support help me troubleshoot custom navigation?

What happens if I add a section to the page after customizing navigation manually?

The new section will not appear in the navigation automatically — you'll need to manually add a new nav link and find the section ID for it. This is one of the key reasons the default system is strongly recommended.

What is a Section ID?

A Section ID is a unique code identifier assigned to each section of your property website. It looks something like #section-123abc. Custom navigation links use these IDs to scroll visitors to the correct section of the page when clicked.
