What you can and cannot change on an NWMLS-connected website without MLS re-approval.

Overview

If your website is connected to Northwest MLS (NWMLS), any edits may require re-approval from the MLS once your IDX integration has been approved. Making unauthorized changes can result in $500 fines per violation per site, suspension of IDX data, and compliance responsibility falling on your team.

Before making any changes to your NWMLS site, contact our support team first.

What you cannot change without approval

The following areas must not be updated unless Luxury Presence submits the changes for MLS re-approval:

  • Domain name
  • Logo or branding
  • Any layout that displays IDX data, including:
    • Neighborhood pages
    • Property pages
    • Homepage grids or sliders
  • DMCA notice
  • MLS disclaimers

If your IDX data comes from Northwest MLS, your site is subject to these rules. You'll also receive a confirmation email from Luxury Presence when your site is approved by NWMLS, which outlines these restrictions.

What happens if I accidentally make a non-compliant change?

Contact our support team immediately. Catching and correcting issues before NWMLS identifies them reduces the risk of fines. The sooner you reach out, the better.

Are there any changes I can make without approval?

Changes that don't affect IDX data display or your firm's branding are generally lower risk — for example, updating content in a blog post or adding a non-IDX page. When in doubt, ask us first.
