Overview

Redirects send visitors from an outdated or unused URL to the correct active page on your site. Use them when you delete a page, change a URL, or consolidate content — any time you have a link that should still work but now points to a different destination.

How to create a redirect

1. Navigate to the Presence® Platform.
2. Click Websites from the left-hand menu, then hover over the site you want to edit and select the pen icon.
3. Click the three-dots icon in the top navigation bar next to Edit.
4. Select Site Settings from the dropdown.
5. In the left-hand menu, click Redirects.
6. Click Add New in the top-right corner.
7. Enter the redirect details:
   • Original Path — the URL path you want to redirect away from (e.g., /agents/luxury-presence)
   • Redirect URL — where the visitor should be sent (e.g., /team)
8. Click Create.

Redirects typically go live within a few minutes but may take up to 24 hours to fully propagate.

Tip: Before opening the Website Builder, have both the original page and the destination page open in your browser. This makes it easier to copy the correct paths without errors.

What's the difference between the Original Path and the Redirect URL?

The Original Path is the old or broken URL — the one you want to redirect away from. The Redirect URL is the active destination where visitors should land. Both should be entered as path-only format starting with / (e.g., /old-page → /new-page), not as full URLs.

How long does it take for a redirect to go live?

Redirects typically activate within a few minutes. In some cases propagation can take up to 24 hours.

Do redirects affect SEO?

Yes — in a good way. Redirects set up in Presence® are 301 (permanent) redirects, which pass SEO equity from the old URL to the new one.
