Overview

Lead capture pop-up modals let you engage visitors at the right moment — promoting listings, collecting email sign-ups, or highlighting timely offers — without editing individual pages. Modals are managed through Global Elements and apply site-wide based on the settings you configure.

How to add a new pop-up modal

1. Navigate to the Presence® Platform.
2. Click Websites from the left-hand menu, then hover over the site you want to edit and select the pen icon.
3. In the white top navigation bar, click the Global Elements icon (four dots).
4. From the left-hand menu, select Custom Modals.
5. Click the + icon to open the modal library.
6. Select a modal from the library to open the modal editor.
7. Configure the modal settings:
   • Name — internal reference name for the modal
   • Launch behavior — when and how often the modal appears
   • Timed launch — how long a visitor must be on the site before the modal displays
   • Page visibility — which pages the modal appears on
   • Design — background color, headline text, subtext, and images
8. Click Save in the bottom-left corner.

How to edit an existing pop-up modal

1. Navigate to the Presence® Platform.
2. Click Websites from the left-hand menu, then hover over the site you want to edit and select the pen icon.
3. In the white top navigation bar, click the Global Elements icon (four dots).
4. From the left-hand menu, select Custom Modals.
5. Click the modal you want to update to open its settings.
6. Update any configuration options — launch behavior, page visibility, timed launch, or design.
7. Click Save in the bottom-left corner.

FAQs

Do modals apply to all pages or specific pages only?

You control which pages a modal appears on using the Page Visibility setting in the modal editor. You can set a modal to appear on all pages or limit it to specific ones.

Can I control how often a modal appears to the same visitor?

Yes. Use the Launch Behavior setting to configure how frequently the modal shows — for example, only on the first visit or once per session.

Can I have multiple modals active at the same time?

You can create multiple modals in Custom Modals. Each modal has its own page visibility and launch behavior settings, so you can run different modals on different pages simultaneously.

What's the difference between a Custom Modal and the form elements in the Website Builder?

Custom Modals are global — they appear as overlays triggered by visitor behavior (time on page, scroll depth, etc.) and are managed through Global Elements. Form elements in the Website Builder are placed directly on a specific page as part of the page layout.
