How to add, move, delete, and copy elements on your website pages

Add, move, delete, and copy elements on your website pages, including what to do when a trash icon is missing.

Important: This feature is only available on desktop. It is not accessible through the Luxury Presence Mobile App.

Overview

The Website Builder lets you add elements from a library, move them with drag-and-drop, delete elements you no longer need, and copy elements to other pages on the same website. All changes go live immediately when you click Save.

How to add an element to a page

To add a new element to a page, hover between two existing elements to reveal the + icon, then select your element from the library.

  1. Navigate to the Presence® Platform.
  2. Click Websites from the left-hand menu, then hover over the site you want to edit and select the pen icon.
  3. Use the page dropdown in the top-left corner to navigate to the page you want to edit.
  4. Click the Edit button in the top-right corner to enter edit mode.
  5. Hover between two existing elements on the page — a black + icon will appear.
  6. Click the + icon to open the element library.
  7. Click on an element to add it to the page at that location.
  8. Click on the new element to edit its content and settings in the left-side panel.
  9. Click Save in the top-right corner.

Tip: When searching the element library, type the beginning of the element name — for example, type "blog" to find "Blog Grid." You can also use the element menu to filter by element type.

How to reorder elements on a page

To change the order of elements on a page, use the Reorder Elements panel. Elements at the top of the list appear at the top of the page.

  1. Navigate to the Presence® Platform.
  2. Click Websites from the left-hand menu, then hover over the site you want to edit and select the pen icon.
  3. Use the page dropdown in the top-left corner to navigate to the page you want to edit.
  4. In the white top navigation bar, click the three-dots icon next to the Edit button.
  5. Select Reorder Elements from the dropdown.
  6. In the left panel, find the element you want to move.
  7. Click and hold the six-dots icon next to the element name.
  8. Drag the element to the desired position in the list.
  9. Release to drop it in place.
  10. Click Save in the top-right corner.

How to delete an element from a page

There are two ways to delete an element. Method 1 (Reorder Elements) is recommended because it works for all element types, including those that do not show a delete option in the inline editor.

Method 1 — From Reorder Elements (recommended)

  1. Navigate to the Presence® Platform.
  2. Click Websites from the left-hand menu, then hover over the site you want to edit and select the pen icon.
  3. Use the page dropdown in the top-left corner to navigate to the page you want to edit.
  4. In the white top navigation bar, click the three-dots icon next to the Edit button.
  5. Select Reorder Elements from the dropdown.
  6. Locate the element in the left panel and click the trash can icon next to it.
  7. Confirm the deletion if prompted.
  8. Click Save.

Method 2 — From Edit mode

  1. Navigate to the Presence® Platform.
  2. Click Websites from the left-hand menu, then hover over the site you want to edit and select the pen icon.
  3. Use the page dropdown in the top-left corner to navigate to the page you want to edit.
  4. Click the Edit button in the top-right corner to enter edit mode.
  5. Click on the element you want to delete.
  6. In the left-side settings panel, click Delete.
  7. Click Save.

Note: Not all elements show a Delete button in the inline settings panel. If you do not see a delete option when you click the element, use Method 1 instead.

How to undo a deletion before saving

If you delete an element and have not yet clicked Save, you can recover it by navigating away from the page or refreshing your browser — your unsaved changes, including the deletion, will be discarded.

If you have already clicked Save after deleting an element, the deletion cannot be undone. You will need to re-add the element from the element library and reconfigure its settings.

How to copy an element

You can copy any element to another page on the same website, or paste it on the same page. Copying elements between two separate websites is not supported.

  1. Navigate to the Presence® Platform.
  2. Click Websites from the left-hand menu, then hover over the site you want to edit and select the pen icon.
  3. Use the page dropdown in the top-left corner to navigate to the page containing the element you want to copy.
  4. Click the Edit button in the top-right corner to enter edit mode.
  5. Click on the element you want to copy.
  6. In the top-left corner of the element, click the three-dots icon.
  7. Select Copy Section.
  8. To paste on a different page, use the page dropdown in the top-left corner to navigate to the destination page, then click the Edit button to enter edit mode. To paste on the same page, skip to step 9.
  9. Click on the element directly above where you want to paste.
  10. Click the three-dots icon on that element.
  11. Select Paste Below.
  12. Use Reorder Elements to adjust the position if needed.
  13. Click Save.

Troubleshooting

There is no trash icon on my element — I can't delete it

Some elements — including certain label, neighborhood, and template-provided elements — do not show a trash icon when selected in the page editor. To delete these elements, use the Reorder Elements panel instead.

  1. Navigate to the Presence® Platform.
  2. Click Websites from the left-hand menu, then hover over the site you want to edit and select the pen icon.
  3. Use the page dropdown in the top-left corner to navigate to the page containing the element.
  4. In the white top navigation bar, click the three-dots icon next to the Edit button.
  5. Select Reorder Elements from the dropdown.
  6. Find the element in the left panel by name — for example, a neighborhood label such as "Gig Harbor" may appear under a heading like "Featured Neighborhoods."
  7. Click the trash can icon next to the element.
  8. Click Save.

If there is still no trash can icon in the Reorder Elements panel, the element may be locked by the page template and cannot be removed directly. Contact our support team — they can remove locked elements on your behalf.

The + icon isn't appearing when I hover between elements

  • Confirm you're in Edit mode — click the Edit button in the top-right corner first
  • Hover carefully in the space between two elements — the + icon appears in specific zones between elements
  • Some page templates restrict where elements can be added — if the + icon does not appear in a particular location, that area may be template-controlled

An element won't move when I try to drag it

  • Confirm you're in Reorder Elements view — click the three-dots icon next to the Edit button and select Reorder Elements
  • Drag from the six-dots icon specifically — dragging from the element name will not work
  • Some elements may be fixed in position depending on the page template

I don't see a Delete button when I click an element

Not all elements show a Delete button in the inline settings panel. Use Reorder Elements instead — see the "There is no trash icon on my element" section above for the full steps.

Best practices for managing page elements

  • Save before switching views — save your current edits before entering Reorder Elements view to avoid losing unsaved changes
  • Preview after adding elements — use Preview Page (available in the three-dots menu) to check how new elements look before they go live
  • Test on mobile — preview pages on mobile view after adding or reordering elements, as mobile layout can differ from desktop
  • Keep pages focused — fewer, well-chosen elements perform better than pages cluttered with too many sections

FAQs

Can I undo element changes after clicking Save?

No — once you click Save, changes are permanent and cannot be undone. If you deleted an element without saving, you can recover it by navigating away from the page or refreshing your browser without saving. For text-heavy elements, copy the content elsewhere before making major changes in case you need to restore it.

Can I copy an element to another page?

Yes — you can copy an element to any page within the same website, or paste it on the same page. In Edit mode, click on the element, then click the three-dots icon in the top-left corner of the element and select Copy Section. Navigate to the destination page using the page dropdown, click Edit, click on the element above where you want to paste, click its three-dots icon, and select Paste Below. Note that copying elements between two separate websites is not supported.

Why doesn't my element have a trash icon when I click on it?

Some element types — including label elements and certain template-provided sections — do not show a delete option in the inline editor. To delete these elements, open the Reorder Elements panel by clicking the three-dots icon next to the Edit button and selecting Reorder Elements, then click the trash can icon next to the element in the left panel. If no trash can icon appears there either, the element may be locked by the template — contact our support team for assistance.

Can I add an element in a specific position on the page?

Yes — the element is inserted at the location where you click the + icon. Hover between two existing elements to place a new element between them. If you need to adjust the position after adding, use the Reorder Elements panel.

What types of elements are available in the element library?

The element library includes text blocks, images, image galleries, video embeds, buttons, forms, property search tools, agent grids, property grids, testimonials, neighborhood labels, and more. To find an element, type the beginning of its name in the search bar — for example, type "blog" to find "Blog Grid."
