How auto-save works for blog drafts in Presence®

How the blog post auto-save feature works and how to make sure it's active while you write.

Overview

Blog posts in Draft status auto-save as you write. If your browser crashes or you accidentally close the tab, your work will still be there when you return.

Important: Auto-save only works when a blog post is set to Draft status. New blog posts open in Published status by default — if you leave the post in Published status, your changes will not auto-save.

How to enable auto-save

  1. Open a new or existing blog post.
  2. Click the Status dropdown — it defaults to Published.
  3. Switch the status to Draft.
  4. Begin writing — auto-save runs automatically in the background.

FAQs

Why isn't my blog post auto-saving?

Auto-save only runs when the post status is set to Draft. If your post is in Published status, changes are not auto-saved. Switch the status to Draft before writing to enable it.

What happens if I click Cancel?

Clicking Cancel discards your draft and will not save your content. This is intentional — Cancel is designed to discard changes, not save them.

Does auto-save work for published posts I'm editing?

No. Auto-save only applies to posts in Draft status. If you're editing a published post, save your changes manually before closing or navigating away.
