How to make a property website inactive without deleting it in Presence®

What to do when a property has sold but you want to keep the website on file.

Overview

When a property sells, you have two options: archive the property listing to remove it from your main site, or contact Support to take the standalone property website offline while keeping it saved. There is no in-platform option to unpublish or deactivate a property website on your own.

Understanding your options

There are two separate things you may want to take offline — the property listing, which appears on your main site in grids, sliders, and featured sections, and the property website, a standalone microsite with its own URL. These are managed differently.

To remove the listing from your main site, archive the property yourself in the Presence Platform. This removes it from all listing displays but keeps the data saved so you can restore it later. The property website, if one exists, will remain live at its own URL.

To take the property website offline without deleting it, contact the Support or Launch Team. They can change the service status to deactivate the site without permanently deleting it.

How to archive a property listing

Archiving removes the property from your main site while keeping the record in your CMS.

1. Navigate to the Presence Platform.
2. In the left-hand menu, click Content to expand the submenu, then select Properties.
3. Use the search bar to find the property, or locate it in the list.
4. Check the checkbox next to the property.
5. Click the trash can icon (labeled Delete) at the bottom of the screen.
6. Select Archive in the confirmation pop-up.

The property is now archived and will no longer appear on your website. You can restore it at any time from the Archived view.

Note: Archiving the property listing does not affect the standalone property website (microsite) if one exists. That site will continue to be live at its own URL until separately deactivated.

How to take a property website offline without deleting it

There is currently no self-service option to unpublish or deactivate a property website from within the Presence Platform. To take a property website offline while keeping it on file, contact the Support or Launch Team and include the property address and the URL of the property website so the team can locate and deactivate the correct site.
