How to send a manual email to a contact in AI CRM

How to send a one-on-one email to a contact directly from their record in the Presence® Platform.

Overview

You can send a manual email to any contact directly from their record in AI CRM using the Email quick action button. Clicking the button opens your desktop email app with the contact's email address pre-filled.

How to send a manual email

  1. Navigate to the Presence® Platform.
  2. Click Contacts from the left-hand menu.
  3. Open the contact record you want to email.
  4. In the profile header, click the Email quick action button.
  5. Your desktop email app will open with the contact's email address pre-filled.
  6. Write your subject line and message, then send from your email app.

FAQs

Will the email be logged in the contact's activity timeline?

No — manual emails sent through your desktop email app are not logged in the contact's activity timeline. To send emails that are tracked in AI CRM, use Smart Actions.

Can I use email templates when sending a manual email?

Email templates are not available for manual emails. Templates can be used when sending emails through Smart Actions.

What if the Email button doesn't do anything when I click it?

The Email button opens your desktop email app. If nothing happens, your computer may not have a default email app configured. Check your computer's default app settings and make sure an email app is set as the default for mailto links.
