What does Luxury Presence access when I connect my email and calendar?

What permissions we request when you connect your email and calendar, why we need each one, and what happens if you don't grant it.

Important: This feature is only available on desktop. It is not accessible through the Luxury Presence Mobile App.

Overview

When you connect your email to the Presence® Platform, we sync your email and calendar so your client conversations sit alongside each contact's record, let you send email straight from the dashboard, and import the contacts you already have. We connect through Nylas, an email integration provider, which handles the secure connection to Google or Microsoft on our behalf. This article lists every permission we request, why we ask for it, and what you lose if you don't grant it.

Our promises

• Read-only, except sending. Every permission below is read-only. The one exception lets you send email from the dashboard — and only when you send it.
• Only what the features need. We request the minimum set of permissions required to run the integration. Nothing speculative.
• You stay in control. Disconnect anytime — from the Presence® Platform or from your Google/Microsoft account. That revokes our access immediately.

Permissions we request

Read your email

• What it means: We read the messages in your mailbox.
• Why we ask: Three reasons. First, to show your email conversations with each client on their contact timeline, so the full history lives in one place. Second, we analyze the content to spot opportunities and suggest next actions on each contact — so the right follow-up surfaces on its own instead of getting buried in your inbox. Third, we create contacts from the people you correspond with, so someone you email becomes a contact without you adding them by hand.
• If you don't grant it: Your emails won't appear on contact timelines, we can't surface email-driven opportunities or suggested actions, and we won't create contacts from your correspondence. You'd track conversations, follow-ups, and contacts manually.

Send email

• What it means: We send email from your address — only when you send it from the Presence® Platform.
• Why we ask: So you can email clients from the dashboard without switching to your inbox. Replies land in your normal mailbox.
• If you don't grant it: You can still read and organize email in the Presence® Platform, but can't send from the dashboard. You'd compose in Gmail or Outlook directly.

Read your calendar

• What it means: We read your calendar events.
• Why we ask: To surface meetings and appointments next to the related contact.
• If you don't grant it: Calendar events won't show in the Presence® Platform.

Read your contacts

• What it means: We read your saved contacts and the people you email with. On Google, this includes your organization's directory.
• Why we ask: To import the contacts you already have, so you don't start from an empty AI CRM.
• If you don't grant it: We won't import your contacts. You'd add them manually or by CSV.

How you grant these — Google vs. Microsoft

How the permission screen works depends on your provider.

• Google (Gmail): You'll see a checklist and can approve or decline each permission on its own. Decline one and only that feature turns off — the rest of the integration still works.
• Microsoft (Outlook): Microsoft presents the permissions as a single set. You approve them all to connect, or the connection won't complete — there's no per-permission choice. Some organizations also require an IT administrator to approve the app once before anyone can connect.

Disconnecting

You can disconnect anytime, and you don't need us to do it:

• In the Presence® Platform: Navigate to the Presence® Platform, click your name or initials in the bottom left-hand corner, select Settings, click Connected Accounts, and remove the connection from the Email & Calendar section. This revokes our access right away.
• From your account directly: Google at myaccount.google.com/permissions, or Microsoft at myapps.microsoft.com — find Luxury Presence and remove it.

Disconnecting stops all future syncing.

FAQs

What is Nylas, and why does it have access to my email?

Nylas is a third-party email integration provider. It handles the secure technical connection between your Google or Microsoft account and the Presence® Platform on our behalf, so we don't have to build and maintain that connection ourselves. It only accesses the permissions listed above.

Is my email content used to train AI models?

What happens to my synced data if I disconnect?

Disconnecting stops all future syncing immediately. Contacts, notes, and activity already imported into AI CRM remain — they are not deleted when you disconnect your email.

Can I decline just one permission instead of all of them?

If you're connecting through Google, yes — you can approve or decline each permission individually. If you're connecting through Microsoft, no — Microsoft requires approving the full set to complete the connection.
