How the Walk Score element works, why its link can't be manually edited, and what options are available.

Overview

The Walk Score element on neighborhood pages is a built-in, automated element — its data and link are fed directly from Walk Score and Yelp. Because it is a system-level element, you cannot manually edit or relink the Walk Score URL through the Website Builder. If you need to change how Walk Score appears on your site, you have two options: remove the element or contact support.

Key things to know

  • Walk Score data — scores, nearby places, and the associated link — is automatically pulled from Walk Score and Yelp. It is not a text or link element you added manually
  • Because the data is system-generated, the link URL cannot be updated through the settings panel the way a regular hyperlink can
  • If you remove the Walk Score element, it is removed from all neighborhood pages on your site — not just the page you are currently editing

What you can do

Option 1: Remove the Walk Score element

  1. Navigate to the Presence® Platform.
  2. Click Websites from the left-hand menu, then hover over your site and select the pen icon.
  3. Use the page dropdown in the top-left corner to select a neighborhood page.
  4. Click Edit in the top-right corner.
  5. Click the Walk Score element in the page layout.
  6. In the left-hand settings panel, select the Delete or trash icon to remove the element.
  7. Click Save.

Important: Removing the Walk Score element from one neighborhood page removes it from all neighborhood pages across your site — it is a shared element type.

Can I update the Walk Score link to point to a different URL?

No. The Walk Score element is a built-in system-level element that automatically pulls its data and link from the Walk Score service. It is not a standard hyperlink element that can be edited in the settings panel.

Removing the element removes it from all neighborhood pages — not just the page you are editing. If you only need to adjust it on one page, contact our support team to discuss options.
