How to add and manage a featured video on your homepage

How to embed a YouTube or Vimeo video on your Presence® homepage using the Featured Video element.

Overview

You can add a featured video to your homepage by embedding a YouTube or Vimeo link through the Website Builder. Featured Videos are managed via direct video links — they are not stored in the Presence® Platform dashboard.

Note: The Featured Video element is different from the Homepage Opening Video. The Homepage Opening Video is stored directly in the dashboard and plays as a full-screen background video. The Featured Video element embeds an external YouTube or Vimeo link within a page section. How to add a featured video

Step 1: Prepare your video

Upload your video to YouTube or Vimeo before adding it to your homepage. You can set the video to Unlisted if you want it accessible only via your website and not publicly searchable.

Note: Only YouTube and Vimeo links are supported. Direct video file uploads are not supported for the Featured Video element.

Step 2: Navigate to your homepage

1. Navigate to the Presence® Platform.
2. Click Websites from the left-hand menu, then hover over the site you want to edit and select the pen icon.
3. Click Edit in the top-right corner.
4. Navigate to your homepage.

Step 3: Add the Featured Video element

1. Hover between two existing elements on the page and click the + icon to open the element library.
2. Search for "featured" and select the Featured Video element.
3. The element will be added to your page.

Step 4: Configure the video

In the left-side settings panel:

1. Paste your YouTube or Vimeo URL into the Video URL field.
2. Optionally add a Title and Subtitle for context.
3. Optionally add a Poster Image — hover over the image area, click the pen icon to open the Media Gallery, then upload a screenshot from your video or select an image.
4. Under the Layout tab, optionally customize the Text Color and Background Color to match your brand.

Step 5: Save your changes

Click Save in the top-right corner to publish your update.

How to update an existing featured video

To replace or edit a Featured Video already on your homepage:

1. Navigate to the Presence® Platform.
2. Click Websites from the left-hand menu, then hover over the site you want to edit and select the pen icon.
3. Click Edit in the top-right corner.
4. Click on the Featured Video element on the page. The settings panel will open on the left.
5. Update the Video URL, title, or other settings as needed.
6. Click Save.

FAQs

What video platforms are supported for the Featured Video element?

Only YouTube and Vimeo links are supported. Direct video file uploads are not available for this element. Upload your video to one of these platforms first, then paste the link into the Video URL field.

Can I make my video private so it only appears on my website?

Yes. When uploading to YouTube or Vimeo, set the video to Unlisted. It will be accessible via your website but won't appear in public search results on those platforms.

What's the difference between a Featured Video and a Homepage Opening Video?

The Featured Video element embeds an external YouTube or Vimeo link within a section of your homepage. The Homepage Opening Video is stored directly in the Presence® Platform and plays as a full-screen background video at the top of your homepage. They are separate elements serving different purposes.

Why isn't my video showing after I saved?

Confirm your YouTube or Vimeo URL is correct and that the video is set to Public or Unlisted — Private videos cannot be embedded. If the URL is correct and the video still isn't displaying, try clearing your browser cache and reloading the page.
