How to update page SEO titles and meta descriptions

How to manually edit the SEO title and meta description for any page on your website.

Important: This feature is only available on desktop. It is not accessible through the Luxury Presence Mobile App.

Overview

Each page on your website has its own SEO title and meta description — the text that appears in search results and when links are shared on social media. Updating these regularly helps improve click-through rates and ensures each page accurately represents its content.

Note: This article covers manually updating these fields yourself. If your plan includes AI SEO Optimizations (Brand, Scale, or All In), these fields may already be updated automatically as part of that feature. See How do AI SEO Optimizations work? for details.

How to update a page's SEO title and meta description

Method 1 — From the page dropdown:

  1. Navigate to the Presence® Platform.
  2. Click Websites from the left-hand menu, then hover over the site you want to edit and select the pen icon.
  3. Use the page dropdown in the top-left corner to find the page you want to update.
  4. Hover over the page name and click the gear icon to the right.
  5. In the left-hand panel, scroll to the SEO section.
  6. Update the SEO Page Title and SEO Description fields.
  7. Click Save in the top-right corner.

Method 2 — From the top navigation bar:

  1. Follow steps 1–3 above.
  2. Click the three-dots icon in the top navigation bar next to Edit.
  3. Select Page Settings from the dropdown.
  4. Scroll to the SEO section, update the fields, and click Save.

Note: Each page has its own SEO settings — review and update all pages individually as needed.

SEO title best practices

  • Keep it under 60 characters — longer titles may be truncated in search results
  • Use relevant keywords — match the words your target audience searches for
  • Be unique — each page should have a distinct title
  • Add your brand name — include your name or business for recognition
  • Optimize for local search — use a format like "Keyword | Location | Brand Name" for local visibility

Meta description best practices

  • Keep it between 50–160 characters — too short or too long may reduce visibility
  • Include keywords — match the user's search intent
  • Write a clear call to action — phrases like "Learn more," "Explore listings," or "Contact us today" improve click-through rates
  • Be unique — each page should have a description that reflects its specific content

Will my manual changes be overwritten if I have AI SEO Optimizations enabled?

If AI SEO Optimizations is active on your plan (Brand, Scale, or All In), it reviews one page per week and may update the SEO title, meta description, and H1 heading automatically. You have a 48-hour window to review or decline each change. See How do AI SEO Optimizations work? for the full details.

Does Google always use the meta description I write?

Not always. Google may display a different snippet if it determines another portion of your page content is more relevant to a specific search query. Writing a clear, accurate meta description improves the likelihood Google will use it, but it's not guaranteed.

How often does Google recrawl my pages after I update them?

Google crawls sites at its own discretion — typically every 4–30 days depending on how frequently your site is updated. Sites with regular new content tend to be crawled more often. After updating metadata, it may take time before the changes appear in search results.

Can I set SEO titles and descriptions for blog posts and property pages too?

Yes. Individual blog posts and property listings have their own SEO fields accessible through Content → Blog Posts or Content → Properties. The same best practices apply.
