How to auto-assign properties to developments in Presence®

How to set up automatic property assignment so listings within a development boundary are linked without manual entry.

Overview

When a development's map boundary is accurately set, properties that sync into the CMS and fall within that boundary are automatically assigned to the development — no manual linking required.

Important: Properties are only auto-assigned if the map boundary has been manually set or edited. A default boundary box does not trigger auto-assignment.

How to set up auto-assignment

  1. Navigate to the Presence® Platform.
  2. In the left-hand menu, click Content to expand the submenu, then select Developments.
  3. Open an existing development or click Add New to create one.
  4. Scroll to the Google Map section.
  5. Adjust the map boundary to accurately encompass the development area — see [How to customize Google Map locations for developments in Presence®] for detailed instructions on drawing a custom boundary.
  6. Click Save.

Once saved, the system will automatically assign any properties that sync into the CMS and fall within the boundary to this development.

How to verify auto-assignment is working

  1. Navigate back to the development details page.
  2. Confirm that properties within the boundary are listed under the development.
  3. Newly synced properties within the boundary will continue to appear automatically.

Important limitations

  • Auto-assignment only works if the boundary has been manually set — the default boundary box does not trigger auto-assignment. You must draw or adjust the boundary for the feature to activate.
  • Once assigned, a property won't be auto-reassigned to a different development — if a property is incorrectly assigned to a development, it must be manually unassigned before it can be linked to the correct one.

FAQs

Why aren't my properties being auto-assigned?

The most common cause is that the map boundary is still set to the default box. Auto-assignment only triggers when the boundary has been manually drawn or adjusted. Go to the Google Map section of the development and update the boundary. See [How to customize Google Map locations for developments in Presence®].

Can a property be auto-assigned to multiple developments?

No. Once a property is assigned to a development, it won't be auto-assigned to another. If the assignment is incorrect, manually unassign the property first, then ensure the correct development's boundary is properly set.

What if a property was added before the boundary was set?

Properties that were already in the CMS before the boundary was configured may not have been auto-assigned. Check the development's property list and manually assign any that were missed.
