How to customize your website favicon

How to upload and update the favicon that appears in browser tabs for your website.

Important: This feature is only available on desktop. It is not accessible through the Luxury Presence Mobile App.

Overview

Upload a custom favicon — the small icon that appears in a browser tab next to your page title — so visitors can recognize your site among multiple open tabs and bookmarks.

How to update your favicon

To update your favicon, start in the Presence® Platform:

  1. Navigate to the Presence® Platform.
  2. Click Websites from the left-hand menu, then hover over the site you want to edit and select the pen icon.
  3. In the top navigation bar, click the Website Styles icon (the Paint Can icon).
  4. From the left-hand panel, select Website Branding.
  5. Scroll to the Favicon section.
  6. Hover over the favicon square and click the pen icon to open the Media Gallery.
  7. Click Upload Files to upload a new favicon image from your device.
  8. Click Assign Selected at the bottom of the Media Gallery.
  9. Click X to close the Media Gallery if needed, then click Save in the top-right corner.

Your favicon updates immediately after saving. If the old favicon still appears in your browser tab, clear your browser cache and reload the page.

Why isn't my new favicon showing in Google search results?

Google needs to recrawl your site to detect favicon changes. This can take days to weeks depending on your site's crawl frequency. To speed it up, use the URL Inspection tool in Google Search Console to request re-indexing of your homepage. See Getting started with Google Search Console for guidance.

Why isn't my favicon showing in the browser tab yet?

Your favicon updates immediately after saving, so if the old one still appears, your browser has likely cached it. Clear your browser cache and reload the page to see the updated favicon.

What file format should I use for my favicon?

ICO (icon file format) and PNG are both supported. ICO is the most broadly compatible format across browsers. See What size and file format should my logo be? for full format guidance.

Can I update my favicon on the mobile app?

No. Updating your favicon is only available on desktop through the Presence® Platform — it is not accessible through the Luxury Presence Mobile App.
