Why can't I change a user's email address in Presence®?

Overview

To protect account security and maintain audit integrity, email addresses on existing user accounts cannot be edited. This applies to all users including your own profile.

If a user needs to use a new email address, you'll need to create a new user account.

• The Email Address field is disabled when editing a user in Settings → Users
• The Email Address field is also disabled under Settings → My Profile
• Existing email addresses cannot be updated or replaced

How to update a user's email address

Since existing email addresses cannot be edited, follow these steps to give a user access under a new email address:

1. Create a new user using the updated email address.
2. Assign the appropriate role and permissions.
3. Delete the old user account associated with the previous email address.
