How to stop listing notification emails for a contact in Presence®

How to disable saved search email notifications for contacts who no longer want to receive listing alerts.

Overview

When a contact unsubscribes from marketing emails or is archived in Presence®, their listing notification emails are not automatically stopped. Listing alerts are tied to saved searches and must be managed separately.

Important: Archiving a contact does not stop listing alert emails. Unsubscribing from agent or brokerage marketing communications does not affect Home Search Tool alerts. You need to manually disable notifications or delete saved searches to stop these emails.

Step 1: Turn off notifications

How you turn off notifications depends on who created the saved search.

If the agent created the search on the contact's behalf

The saved search was set up through the Presence® Platform and is managed there.

1. Navigate to the Presence® Platform.
2. Click Contacts from the left-hand menu.
3. Find and select the contact from the list.
4. In the contact's profile, locate the Saved Searches panel.
5. Click the three-dot icon next to the saved search.
6. Select Edit.
7. Change the notification frequency to Never or turn off notifications for that search.
8. Click Finish to save.

If the contact created the search themselves

The saved search was set up through the Home Search Tool on your website and is managed there. You can do this on the contact's behalf, or direct them to do it themselves using the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any listing alert email.

To manage it on their behalf:

1. Navigate to your website's Home Search Tool — for example, yourwebsite.com/home-search/notifications.
2. Log in using the contact's account.
3. Click the contact's initials in the top-right corner.
4. Select Profile.
5. Click Notifications.
6. Choose one of the following:
   • Click Turn off next to "You are currently opted in to all email notifications" to stop all listing alerts
   • Use the individual toggles under Saved Searches to disable specific search notifications

To direct the contact to manage it themselves:

The contact can unsubscribe from listing alerts at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any listing alert email.

Step 2: Delete the saved search (if notifications continue)

If the contact is still receiving listing emails after completing Step 1, the saved search itself may still be active. Deleting it will stop all alerts for that search.

For searches created by the agent:

1. Navigate to the Presence® Platform.
2. Click Contacts from the left-hand menu.
3. Select the contact from the list.
4. In the Saved Searches panel, click the three-dot icon next to the search.
5. Select Delete and confirm.

For searches created by the contact:

Follow the same Home Search Tool steps in Step 1, but select Delete instead of adjusting the notification settings.
