How to connect Follow Up Boss

How to generate a Follow Up Boss API key and add the integration in the Presence® Platform.

Important: This feature is only available on desktop. It is not accessible through the Luxury Presence Mobile App.

Overview

Connecting Follow Up Boss (FUB) to the Presence® Platform enables lead syncing, website tracking, and two-way assignment sync between both platforms. This article covers the initial connection setup.

Note: There are two separate Follow Up Boss integrations — the main connection covered here, and the FUB Import integration covered in How to set up the Follow Up Boss Import integration. If you want leads from non-Luxury Presence sources to sync into the Presence® Platform, you'll need to enable both.

Step 1: Generate your Follow Up Boss API key

  1. Log in to your Follow Up Boss account.
  2. Go to Admin → API.
  3. Click Create API Key.
  4. Name the integration — we recommend "Luxury Presence."
  5. Copy the generated API key.
  6. Click Done.

Step 2: Add the integration in the Presence® Platform

  1. Navigate to the Presence® Platform.
  2. Click your name or initials in the bottom left-hand corner of the screen.
  3. Select Settings from the menu, then select Integrations.
  4. Click Add New in the top-right corner.
  5. Name the integration (e.g., "Follow Up Boss").
  6. Select Follow Up Boss from the provider dropdown.
  7. Paste your API key.
  8. Click Save.

FAQs

Do I need to set up anything else after connecting Follow Up Boss?

Yes — if you want leads from non-Luxury Presence sources to sync into the Presence® Platform, you'll also need to enable the FUB Import integration separately. See How to set up the Follow Up Boss Import integration.

To track website activity in Follow Up Boss, you'll also need to install the FUB tracking pixel. See How to install the Follow Up Boss tracking pixel on your website.

Who can set up the Follow Up Boss integration?

The main FUB connection can be completed by any Admin user in the Presence® Platform. The FUB Import integration requires authorization by the Follow Up Boss account owner.

Why aren't leads syncing to the correct agent in Follow Up Boss?

The most common cause is a name mismatch between Luxury Presence and Follow Up Boss. For assigned agents to sync correctly, the Lead Assignment Rule must be enabled and the agent's name in the Presence® Platform must match their name in Follow Up Boss exactly — for example, "Bob Smith" and "Robert Smith" will not match. Update the name in one platform to ensure they match, then test by submitting a new lead.
