How to connect Facebook and Instagram for Listing Ads in Presence®

How to complete the one-time Meta connection required to launch Listing Ad campaigns.

Overview

To run Listing Ads through Luxury Presence, you connect your Facebook Page one time. After that, every Listing Ad you launch runs on Facebook and Instagram under your brand — buyers see the ad coming from you.

This one-time setup takes about two minutes.

Note: Listing Ads are available on Brand, Scale, and All-In plans.

Before you start

You'll need all three of the following to connect successfully:

 

Important: Without a linked business Instagram account, ad launch will fail.

How to connect

  1. Navigate to the Presence® Platform.
  2. In the left-hand menu, click Marketing to expand the submenu, then select Advertising.
  3. Click Listing Ads from the Advertising dashboard.
  4. Click Launch Campaign on the listing you want to advertise.
  5. Click Connect to Meta. A Facebook login window opens.
  6. Log in to Facebook if you're not already signed in.
  7. Select the Facebook Page that represents your real estate business.
  8. Review the permissions Facebook lists and click Continue.
  9. Once you see a green Connected indicator, you're done and can launch your campaign.

You only need to complete this connection once. Future Listing Ads launch in a couple of clicks.

What permissions am I granting?

Luxury Presence asks for the permissions needed to run ads on your Page and Instagram account. Here's what each is used for:

  • Manage your Pages and post to them — so we can run ads that appear to come from your Page
  • See the list of Pages you manage — so we can show you which Page to connect
  • Access your Instagram Business account — so your ads can appear on Instagram as well as Facebook
  • Access your Business Manager — so our systems can run ads under your brand

Luxury Presence does not post organic content to your Facebook or Instagram without your approval, and does not access or share any personal messages or contact data.

Is your Page already owned by another Business Manager?

A Facebook Page can only be owned by one Business Manager at a time. If your Page was claimed by a previous agency, your old brokerage, or another marketing vendor, Luxury Presence can't connect to it until that claim is removed.

This is the single most common reason the connection fails for established agents, so it's worth checking before you start.

How to check who owns your Page

  1. Go to business.facebook.com and log in with the Facebook account that admins your Page.
  2. In the left sidebar, click Settings (gear icon) → Business settings.
  3. Under Accounts, click Pages.
  4. Look for your Page in the list:
    • If your Page is listed under a Business Manager that you control, you're set — proceed to "How to connect" above.
    • If your Page is not listed in any BM you control, it's either unclaimed (fine — Luxury Presence's BM will claim it during the connection) or claimed by another BM (you'll need to clear that claim first).

To confirm which BM owns it, open your Facebook Page directly and go to Settings → Page setup → Page management history. Facebook will show "This Page is managed by [Business Manager name]" if a BM owns it.

How to remove an existing Business Manager claim

If you have admin access to the Business Manager that owns your Page:

  1. Go to business.facebook.com and switch to that Business Manager.
  2. Go to Settings → Business settings → Accounts → Pages.
  3. Select your Page from the list.
  4. Click Remove in the top right and confirm.
  5. Once removed, return to Luxury Presence and start the connection.

If you don't have admin access to the Business Manager that owns your Page:

  1. Contact the admin of that Business Manager and ask them to remove your Page from their BM.
  2. If you can't reach them or they won't release it, you can request access through Facebook directly. Go to your Page → Professional dashboard → Page access → Request access, or follow Meta's guide on reclaiming a Page from a Business Manager. Facebook may take several days to resolve the request.

Once the previous claim is removed, come back to Luxury Presence and complete the connection.

FAQs

Can I change the Page I connected?

Yes. Go to Marketing → Advertising → Listing Ads → Create Campaign in your dashboard. Under "Platforms," click the three dots (…) and click Disconnect. Then reconnect with the correct Page.

Can I run ads without an Instagram account?

No. Listing Ads require a business Instagram account linked to your Facebook Page. Convert a personal account to a professional account first: Set up a professional Instagram account. Then connect it to your Facebook Page: Connect your professional Instagram account to a Facebook Page.

What if my Facebook Page is managed by my brokerage or an assistant?

The person with admin access to the Page needs to complete the connection — or grant you admin access first. Once connected, any ads you launch through Luxury Presence will run on the Page.

Will connecting change anything about my Facebook Page?

No. Your Page, posts, followers, and content stay exactly as they are. Luxury Presence gets a limited permission to run ads under your Page only.

What happens if I change my Facebook password?

Facebook treats password changes as a signal to re-verify connected apps. You may see a prompt to reconnect. Click it and repeat the steps above. Your existing ads keep running while you reconnect.

Who at Luxury Presence can see my ad account?

Only the Luxury Presence system and our paid media specialists who support your campaigns. We do not share or sell Facebook data to third parties.

Can I disconnect later?

Yes. If you disconnect, ads that are already running will continue through the end of their paid term, but you won't be able to launch new ones until you reconnect.

Troubleshooting

"Connect to Meta" button does nothing when I click it

Your browser is likely blocking the Facebook login popup:

  • Allow popups for app.luxurypresence.com in your browser settings
  • Disable popup-blocking extensions for this site
  • Try a different browser — Chrome, Safari, or Firefox are all supported

Facebook says I don't have permission to manage any Pages

You need admin access to at least one Facebook Page to run Listing Ads. Ask the current Page admin to grant you access, or have them complete the connection for you.

I connected but my ad fails to launch with an Instagram error

Two things to check:

  1. Is your Instagram account a Business account — not a personal account? If it's personal, convert it here.
  2. Is that Business Instagram account linked to the same Facebook Page you connected? If not, follow these steps.

Once both are confirmed, disconnect and reconnect through the flow, then try launching again.

I get an error about my Facebook Page being owned by another Business Manager

Your Page is currently claimed by another Business Manager — usually a previous agency, brokerage, or marketing vendor. See "Is your Page already owned by another Business Manager?" above for how to check who owns your Page and how to remove the existing claim.

The popup closes before I finish

If you close the Facebook popup before completing all steps, the connection won't save. Click Connect to Meta again and complete the full flow without closing the window.

I finished connecting but don't see "Connected" in my dashboard

Refresh the page. If the status still isn't updating after a minute, try disconnecting and reconnecting. If it still doesn't work, contact our support team and share a screenshot of the screen you're stuck on.

My ad was running fine and now I'm getting an error that says I need to reconnect

Your Facebook connection was invalidated — this can happen if you changed your Facebook password or removed Luxury Presence from your Facebook app permissions. Click the reconnect prompt in your dashboard and repeat the connection steps.
