How do I disconnect my Facebook or Instagram account from Social Media Management?

Disconnect your Facebook or Instagram connection used for Social Media Management, and understand how it differs from your Listing Ads connection.

Important: This feature is only available on desktop. It is not accessible through the Luxury Presence Mobile App.

Overview

There is no self-serve option to disconnect your Facebook or Instagram connection from Social Media Management — this must be completed by our support team. This is separate from your Listing Ads connection, which you can disconnect yourself; disconnecting one does not affect the other.

How to disconnect your Social Media accounts

To disconnect a Facebook or Instagram account used for Social Media Management:

  1. Contact our support team via live chat, email, or phone (see below).
  2. Let them know your website domain and which Facebook page needs to be disconnected.
  3. Once our support team completes the disconnect, reconnect by navigating to the Presence® Platform, clicking Marketing from the left-hand menu, selecting Social Media, and completing the OAuth flow from the beginning.

Note: Disconnection cannot be completed from within the Presence® Platform for Social Media Management — it must be performed by our support team.

Tips for a successful reconnection

  • Log in with your personal Facebook account — Meta requires this to connect a business page.
  • Click Edit settings when the reconnection screen appears — this is the key step for selecting the correct Facebook Page.
  • Link a Business or Creator Instagram account to that Facebook Page — if your Instagram isn't a Business or Creator account linked to the page, the connection won't stick.
  • Give it time to sync — Meta can take up to an hour to fully sync after you link your accounts.

Common Facebook and Instagram connection issues

Wrong page selected during setup

When connecting to Facebook or Instagram, you'll go through an OAuth flow. It's easy to accidentally select a personal profile instead of a business page, or pick the wrong business page entirely.

There is no self-serve way to switch the connected page. Contact our support team, and they'll disconnect the current connection so you can reconnect and select the correct page — remember to click Edit settings on the reconnection screen to choose the right one.

Business Manager ownership conflict

If your Facebook page is managed under a Business Manager, a conflict can occur on the Meta side that prevents a clean connection. This can't be resolved from within the Presence® Platform.

Contact our support team, and they'll disconnect the existing connection so you can re-authenticate once the Meta-side conflict is resolved.

Logo looks outdated after a brokerage change

If your logo looks old after a brokerage change, this is expected — logos in Social Media Management pull directly from your website. Update the logo on your website and it will carry through automatically.

"Failed to load" connection error

A "failed to load" error when connecting Facebook was a confirmed bug that has since been fixed. If you're still seeing this error after the fix, contact our support team.

Is this the same as disconnecting my Meta connection for Listing Ads?

No, Social Media Management and Listing Ads are separate connections. Disconnecting one does not affect the other. Listing Ads has a self-serve disconnect option through the three-dot menu on the campaign's Platforms section — see How to connect Facebook and Instagram for Listing Ads for those steps. Social Media Management has no self-serve disconnect option — contact our support team with your website domain and the Facebook page that needs to be disconnected, and they'll complete it on the backend.

Why does my logo look wrong on my social posts?

Logos in Social Media Management pull from your website. If your logo is outdated — for example, after a brokerage change — update the logo on your website and it will update in your social posts automatically.
