How to draw a custom boundary when searching for homes in the mobile app

How to draw a custom map boundary to focus a property search on a specific neighborhood or area.

Overview

The Draw Tool lets you define a precise geographic boundary for a property search — useful when a client knows exactly where they want to look and wants to exclude surrounding areas.

How to access the map

To get to the Draw Tool, first navigate to the map view:

  • Starting a new search: Begin a new search in the app and tap the location field to open the map.
  • From an existing collaboration: Open the collaboration, tap the saved search, then tap the location shown for that search. This opens the map view.

Once you're on the map, you'll see two stacked circular icons in the bottom-left corner.

How to draw a custom search area

  1. Tap the top circular icon (it looks like a hand with a pointing finger) in the bottom-left corner of the map.
  2. Use your finger to draw a custom boundary directly on the map.
  3. Once you've finished drawing, choose what to do next:
    • Tap Apply (top-right) to filter properties within your drawn area
    • Tap Clear Drawing (bottom) to erase and start over
    • Tap X (top-left) to exit without saving

How to remove a drawn area

After applying a custom area, the draw icon in the bottom-left corner changes to an X. Tap it to remove the boundary and reset the map view.

Can I use the Draw Tool for a new search or only in a collaboration?

Both. You can use the Draw Tool when starting a new search or when editing a saved search within a collaboration.

What if I draw the wrong shape?

Tap Clear Drawing at the bottom of the screen to erase your drawing and start over without losing the rest of your search settings.

Is there a limit to how many custom areas I can draw?
