Why do RSS blog posts appear as Press Releases instead of Blog Posts?

Why blogs imported via RSS land under Press Releases rather than Blog Posts, and what to do about it.

Overview

When you connect a WordPress blog or any external RSS feed to your website, the imported articles appear under Content → Press Releases — not under Content → Blog Posts. This is expected behavior, not a bug. The RSS integration is designed specifically to pull external content into your Press Releases library.

Why RSS imports land in Press Releases

The RSS feed integration was built to surface external and syndicated content — similar to how press mentions work. Because RSS pulls content from an outside source rather than content you write directly on your website, the platform categorizes it as Press Releases.

Blog Posts are intended for content you write and publish directly on your website.

What to do if you want your RSS blog content under Blog Posts

You have two options:

  • Use Press Releases as-is — Add a Press Grid element directly to your blog page in the Website Builder. This lets RSS-imported content appear alongside or in place of native blog posts on your blog page, without visitors necessarily seeing a difference.
  • Recreate posts natively — Write or paste your blog content directly into Content → Blog Posts. This gives you full control, lets posts appear under Blog Posts, and unlocks all blog features including categories, scheduling, featured images, and video embeds.

How to display RSS-imported content on your website

If you want RSS-imported articles to appear on a page of your site:

  1. Navigate to the Presence® Platform.
  2. Click Websites from the left-hand menu, then hover over your site and select the pen icon.
  3. Open the page where you want the content to appear using the page dropdown at the top of the editor.
  4. Add a Press Releases element from the element library — search "Press Release" to find it.
  5. The element will automatically pull from your Press Releases library, including any RSS-imported articles.
  6. Click Save.

Your changes go live immediately.

FAQs

Can I move RSS-imported articles from Press Releases to Blog Posts?

There is no built-in way to move content between Press Releases and Blog Posts. If you want the content under Blog Posts, you would need to copy and paste it into a new Blog Post manually.

My WordPress blog has dozens of posts. Is there a way to bulk import them as Blog Posts?

Bulk import into Blog Posts is not currently supported. If you want WordPress content under Blog Posts, it would need to be recreated manually in Content → Blog Posts.

Will my RSS feed keep importing new posts automatically?

Is there any way to make RSS imports appear under Blog Posts on my website?

RSS imports will always land under Press Releases in the CMS. However, you can add a Press Releases grid element directly to your blog page in the Website Builder — this lets your RSS-imported content appear on the same page as your native blog posts, giving visitors a seamless experience across both content types.
