How to password protect your entire website

How to add a password to your entire website to restrict access to all pages at once.

Important: This feature is only available on desktop. It is not accessible through the Luxury Presence Mobile App.

Overview

Site-wide password protection restricts access to your entire website behind a single password, rather than protecting individual pages one at a time. Only visitors with the password can view any part of your site.

Note: This is different from page-level password protection, which secures individual pages while keeping the rest of your site public. See How to password protect a page on your website if you only want to protect specific pages instead of your whole site.

How to password protect your website

To password protect your entire website, start here:

1. Navigate to the Presence® Platform.
2. Click Websites from the left-hand menu, then hover over the site you want to edit and select the pen icon.
3. In the white top navigation bar, click the three-dots icon next to the Edit button.
4. Select Site Settings from the dropdown.
5. In the left-hand panel, click Password Protection.
6. Enter your password.
7. Click Save.

Your entire website is password protected as soon as you save — visitors will need to enter the password before they can view any page on the site.

What's the difference between site-wide and page-level password protection?

Site-wide password protection restricts your entire website behind one password. Page-level password protection, covered in How to password protect a page on your website, secures only specific pages while the rest of your site stays public. If a site has both a site-wide and a page-level password, only the page-level password is required to access that specific page.

Can I password protect a property listing or property website instead of my whole site?
