How to remove an element you can't delete on your website

Learn what to do when a website element shows no trash can icon, and how to remove locked or template-controlled content.

Important: This feature is only available on desktop. It is not accessible through the Luxury Presence Mobile App.

Overview

Some website elements do not show a trash can icon when you click on them in the page editor. This means the element is part of your website's template structure and cannot be deleted directly from the page canvas. Most locked elements can be removed through the Reorder Elements panel. Elements that are fully template-locked require our support team to remove from the backend.

How to remove a locked element using Reorder Elements

To remove a locked element, use the Reorder Elements panel. This panel displays all elements on the page and allows you to delete elements that cannot be removed directly from the canvas.

  1. Navigate to the Presence® Platform.
  2. Click Websites from the left-hand menu, then hover over the site you want to edit and select the pen icon.
  3. Use the page dropdown in the top-left corner to navigate to the page you want to edit.
  4. In the white top navigation bar, click the three-dots icon next to the Edit button.
  5. Select Reorder Elements from the dropdown.
  6. In the left-hand panel, find the element you want to remove.
  7. Click the trash can icon next to that element.
  8. Click Save to confirm.

Tip: Elements in the Reorder Elements panel are listed in the order they appear on the page. Scroll through the list to locate the element you want to remove.

What to do if there is no trash can icon in the Reorder Elements panel

If the element you want to remove does not have a trash can icon in the Reorder Elements panel, the element is fully locked to your website's template and cannot be removed through the editor. Fully locked elements require backend access to remove.

Contact the Luxury Presence support team and include the following:

  • Your website domain
  • The name of the page and element you want to remove (for example, "Featured Neighborhoods section, label: Gig Harbor")
  • A screenshot showing where the element appears on the page

Why is there no trash can icon when I click on a website element?

When no trash can icon appears after clicking an element on the page, it means the element is part of your website's template and is set to read-only in the page editor. Some elements are locked to protect your template's structure and can only be removed through the Reorder Elements panel or by our support team. To access the Reorder Elements panel, click the three-dots icon next to the Edit button in the top navigation bar, then select Reorder Elements.

Will removing an element from the Reorder Elements panel affect the rest of my website?

Removing an element from the Reorder Elements panel removes it from that specific page only — it will not affect any other pages or your site settings. If you accidentally remove the wrong element, contact our support team promptly so they can help restore it.

How do I contact support to remove a locked element?

To get help removing a fully template-locked element, contact the Luxury Presence support team through any of the following channels. When you reach out, include your website domain, the page name and element name (for example, "Featured Neighborhoods section, label: Gig Harbor"), and a screenshot showing where the element appears on your page.
