Overview

In most cases, Luxury Presence manages your domain's DNS through our secure Cloudflare account. This covers all record types — A records, CNAME records, MX records, TXT records, and email authentication records like SPF, DKIM, and DMARC — as well as your SSL certificate and overall site performance.

If Luxury Presence manages your DNS, you won't have direct access to make changes yourself. Our support team handles all DNS additions, updates, and removals on your behalf.

What DNS records can I request to be updated?

• A records — Point your domain or a subdomain to a specific IP address. Required when connecting your domain to an external hosting service or verifying ownership with certain platforms.
• CNAME records — Create an alias that points one domain name to another. Commonly used to connect subdomains to third-party tools or confirm domain ownership.
• MX records — Route email traffic to your mail server. Required when setting up or switching email providers such as Google Workspace or Microsoft 365.
• TXT records — Verify domain ownership and store configuration data for external services. Used by Google Workspace, Mailchimp, and many other platforms during onboarding.
• SPF records — Specify which mail servers are authorized to send email on behalf of your domain. Prevents spoofing and improves email deliverability.
• DKIM records — Add a digital signature to outgoing email so receiving servers can verify it came from your domain.
• DMARC records — Define how receiving servers should handle email that fails SPF or DKIM checks. Protects your domain from being used in phishing attacks.

Note: SPF, DKIM, and DMARC records are typically required by email providers during setup. Your provider will supply the exact values — forward them to us and we'll add them.

How to request a DNS change

When you need a DNS record added, updated, or removed, collect the record details from your service provider and send them to our support team.

Include the following information in your request:

• Record type — A, CNAME, MX, TXT, SPF, DKIM, or DMARC
• Name or hostname — For example: @ (root domain), www, mail, or a custom subdomain like info.yourdomain.com
• Value or destination — The IP address, domain name, or text string your provider supplies
• TTL — Time to live; use the value your provider specifies, or leave this blank and we'll apply a standard value
• Priority — Required for MX records; your email provider will include this

Your service provider will give you all of this when you sign up or configure your account with them. Copy the records exactly as provided and send them to us — our team will handle the rest.

Important: Always copy and paste DNS record values directly from your provider — do not retype them manually. Some records contain blank spaces that are required for the record to work correctly, and retyping can introduce errors that cause the service to fail.

What you're responsible for

While Luxury Presence handles DNS management and hosting, you remain the owner of your domain through the registrar where you purchased it — such as GoDaddy, Squarespace, or Namecheap.

Domain renewals and payments — You are responsible for keeping your domain registration active and paid. If your domain expires, your website will go offline, and this is outside Luxury Presence's control. Log in to your domain registrar to check your expiration date and renew as needed.

Providing accurate DNS records — When connecting a third-party service, collect the exact record details from your provider before contacting us. Submitting incorrect or incomplete records can prevent the service from connecting properly.

FAQs

Can I make DNS changes myself?

Direct DNS access is not available to clients because Luxury Presence manages domains through a shared Cloudflare account. Send us the records your service provider requires, and our team will add them for you.

What information do I need to include when requesting a DNS change?

You'll need the record type (A, CNAME, MX, TXT, SPF, DKIM, or DMARC), the name or hostname, the value or destination, the TTL if specified, and the priority for MX records. Your service provider will supply all of these when you set up your account with them — copy and paste the values exactly as provided and forward them to us.

How long does it take for DNS changes to go live?

Once our team adds the record, changes typically propagate within a few minutes to a few hours. In rare cases, full global propagation can take up to 48 hours depending on TTL settings and your internet provider.

What's the difference between SPF, DKIM, and DMARC?

SPF, DKIM, and DMARC are email authentication records that work together to protect your domain and improve email deliverability. SPF authorizes specific mail servers to send on your behalf. DKIM adds a verifiable digital signature to each outgoing message. DMARC tells receiving servers what to do if a message fails either check. Most email providers require all three during setup — your provider will supply the exact records to send us.

What happens if my domain expires?

Your website will go offline if your domain expires. Domain renewals are your responsibility — Luxury Presence does not manage domain registration or renewal payments. Log in to your domain registrar to check your expiration date and keep your registration current.

How do I know if Luxury Presence is managing my domain's DNS?

Check your nameservers at whois.com/whois. If they match a Luxury Presence Cloudflare nameserver pair — such as amy.ns.cloudflare.com and byron.ns.cloudflare.com — your DNS is managed by us. Why can't I have direct access to the Cloudflare account?

For security reasons, Luxury Presence cannot grant direct Cloudflare access to individual clients. Our account manages DNS for all client domains, so direct access would expose other clients' configurations. Our support team handles all changes on your behalf to keep every domain protected.
