How to use the Interactive Neighborhood Map element in Presence®

How to add and configure the Interactive Neighborhood Map element in the Website Builder.

Overview

The Interactive Neighborhood Map displays your neighborhoods as clickable regions on a map — clicking a neighborhood takes visitors to its dedicated detail page. The element pulls neighborhood boundary data directly from the CMS.

Before you begin: Neighborhood boundaries must be set in Content → Neighborhoods before adding this element. If boundaries haven't been drawn yet, see [How to set or draw a map boundary for a neighborhood in Presence®].

How to add the Interactive Neighborhood Map

1. Navigate to the Presence® Platform.
2. Click Websites from the left-hand menu, then hover over the site you want to edit and select the pen icon.
3. Click Edit in the top-right corner.
4. Hover between elements and click the + icon to open the element library.
5. Search for "Interactive Neighborhood Map" and select it.

How to configure the element

Select neighborhoods:

1. In the settings panel, click Custom Select.
2. Search for and select the neighborhoods you want to display — for example, Berkeley and Albany.

Customize map settings:

• Title — update to match your branding
• Map position — left or right
• Map height — adjust as needed
• Colors — customize label and neighborhood outline colors

Set the map center and zoom:

1. In the Custom Map Center field, enter coordinates for the point that best represents the center of your target area.
2. Set a Custom Zoom Level — 1 is most zoomed out, 22 is most zoomed in.

3. Click Save.

FAQs

Where does the map get its neighborhood boundary data?

Boundaries are pulled directly from the neighborhood records in your CMS. To update a boundary, go to Content → Neighborhoods, open the neighborhood, scroll to the map section, and search for or manually redraw the boundary. See [How to set or draw a map boundary for a neighborhood in Presence®].

Can I choose which neighborhoods appear on the map?

Yes. Use the Custom Select option in the element settings to manually select which neighborhoods display. Only selected neighborhoods will appear.

Can I add points of interest like hospitals or schools to the map?

Not manually. Google Maps automatically pulls in some locations as visitors zoom in and out. If you want a specific landmark as the focal point, set it as your Custom Map Center.

Can I customize the map colors to match my branding?

Can I change which side of the page the map appears on?

Yes. The Map Position setting lets you display the map on the left or right side of the element.
