How to require visitors to sign in before viewing a page on your website

How to add a forced lead capture modal to non-home search pages on your website.

Important: This feature is only available on desktop. It is not accessible through the Luxury Presence Mobile App.

Overview

The Forced Conversion Modal prompts visitors to sign in or provide their contact information before accessing specific content on your website — such as property detail pages or seller services pages. It's a direct way to capture leads from high-intent visitors.

How the modal works

• Trigger — the modal appears when a user clicks on a designated page
• Sign-in options — visitors can sign in via Google or Facebook, or manually enter their email address
• Data collection — manual entries require an email address at minimum

Where you can use it

The Forced Conversion Modal can be applied to:

• Property Detail pages — capture leads from visitors viewing specific property information. Note: this applies to non-home search tool property pages only (URL path: /properties)
• Support or service pages — gather contact information from visitors accessing content like seller services

How to add a Forced Conversion Modal

1. Navigate to the Presence® Platform.
2. Click Websites from the left-hand menu, then hover over the site you want to edit and select the pen icon.
3. In the white top navigation bar, click the Global Elements icon (four dots).
4. In the lower left-hand corner of the menu, locate the Custom Modals section.
5. Click the + button to open the Modal Library.
6. Select Forced Conversion Modal from the list.
7. In the settings panel, customize the modal:
   • Modal name
   • Launch behavior
   • Text
   • Image
   • Colors
8. Click Save at the bottom of the screen.

FAQs

What's the difference between a Forced Conversion Modal and a regular pop-up modal?

A regular pop-up modal can be dismissed — visitors can close it and continue browsing. A Forced Conversion Modal requires visitors to sign in or provide their information before accessing the page content. It cannot be bypassed.

Does this work on Home Search Tool pages?

No. The Forced Conversion Modal setup described here applies to non-home search pages only. For Home Search Tool forced registration, see How to manage forced registration settings for the Home Search Tool.

What information does the modal collect?

At minimum, the modal collects an email address for manual entries. Visitors can also sign in via Google or Facebook, which passes their account information as the lead capture.

Where do captured leads go?

Leads captured through the Forced Conversion Modal are added to your contacts in AI CRM and trigger a lead alert notification to the email addresses configured in your lead alert settings. See How to update lead alert email addresses
