How to add JavaScript, tracking codes, and third-party scripts to your website using Global Scripts in Site Settings.

Overview

You can add custom scripts — such as tracking codes or custom JavaScript — directly to your website through Site Settings → Global Scripts. Scripts can be added to the header (loads before page content) or footer (loads after page content).

How to add a custom script

  1. Navigate to the Presence® Platform.
  2. Click Websites from the left-hand menu, then hover over the site you want to edit and select the pen icon.
  3. Click the three-dots icon in the top navigation bar next to Edit.
  4. Select Site Settings from the dropdown.
  5. Click Global Scripts in the left-hand panel.
  6. Paste your script into the appropriate section:
    • Header — for scripts that need to load before page content (e.g., analytics tools, Google Tag Manager)
    • Footer — for scripts that can load after page content (e.g., non-critical custom JavaScript)
  7. Click Save.

FAQs

Which section should I use — header or footer?

Follow the script provider's instructions. Most tracking codes (Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, GTM) go in the header. Non-critical scripts or custom JavaScript that doesn't need to load immediately can go in the footer to improve page load performance.

Can I add tracking pixels this way instead of using Tracking IDs?

For common tracking tools like Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, and Google Tag Manager, the dedicated Tracking IDs section in Site Settings is the recommended approach — it's simpler and purpose-built for those tools.
